4 Types of Wedding Invitation Printing Styles

A wedding invitation is a very important part of the wedding. A wedding invitation helps the guests of the event to get an idea of how the event is going to be, at the very least in terms of theme, time, and location as well as who is hosting it, of course. With a proper wedding invitation, you can give off a great impression toward the guests of the wedding and let them know how they can participate in the occasion, for example by giving them information regarding the dress code and more.

There are a lot of considerations that need to be done in the production of a wedding invitation. Wedding invitation printing is just as important as the wedding designing process and there are several options that you can choose to make your wedding invitation look even more attractive.

  1. Engraving

Engraving has been used for a long time, thus it gives off a very unique and impressive look. Engraving uses an inked metal plate that is pressed onto a paper surface using a printer. With this, an impression of text is left on the surface of the paper. You can get a conventional look that is unique at quite an affordable price, making your wedding invitation leave a stronger impression on your wedding guests.

  1. Spot Color

Spot color printing uses a method that is quite similar to the basic digital printing that is most commonly used for wedding card printing. But what is different from a digital printing is the primary colors used for this type of printing. Spot color printing is able to print more colors compared to digital printing. This type of printing is also capable of printing super bright colors, even neon colors. Meanwhile, digital printing is unable to produce bright colors because it uses fewer primary colors, usually four, which limits its capability.

  1. Thermography

Putting it simply, this type of printing is a mix of spot color and engraving. With thermography, heat is used to melt ink along with glue. The ink then will be engraved on the surface of paper stock for the wedding invitation. The final result of thermography printing looks shiny, smooth, and glossy, making it look fancy and elegant. It is similar to the look and texture of plastic for this printing. Thermography printing is not very expensive and definitely worth the price. The downside of this printing is the limitation in terms of colors. There are only twelve primary colors available to be used for thermography printing.

  1. Digital Printing / Flat Printing

It is the most common type of printing style for wedding invitation, mainly because it is cheap and definitely affordable to everyone. It is the best option if you are trying to save up money for other wedding aspects. Digital printing offers quick yet smooth printing that is great if you want a cheap and quick wedding invitation printing. With digital printing, you can use a wider variety of paper compared to the other types of printing style.
